Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Open DroneLog ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access or use the Software.

License

Open DroneLog is released under the AGPLv3 License. This means you are free to:

  • Use the software for personal or commercial purposes
  • Study and modify the source code to suit your needs
  • Distribute the software and your modifications under the same license
  • Use the software privately without sharing modifications

Acceptable Use

When using Open DroneLog, you agree to:

  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding drone operation in your jurisdiction
  • Not use the Software for any unlawful purpose or activity
  • Not attempt to reverse engineer any security measures within the Software
  • Not distribute malware or malicious code through modified versions
  • Respect the intellectual property rights of the project and its contributors

User Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance

You are solely responsible for ensuring your drone operations comply with all applicable aviation regulations, airspace restrictions, and local laws.

Open DroneLog is a flight log analysis tool and does not provide legal, regulatory, or aviation advice. Users must independently verify compliance with all applicable regulations before operating drones.

Data Ownership

You retain full ownership of all flight data, logs, and any content you create or import using the Software. We do not claim any rights to your data. The Software processes data locally on your device, and you are responsible for backing up and securing your own data.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Software is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
  • Warranties that the Software will be error-free or uninterrupted
  • Warranties regarding the accuracy of flight data analysis
  • Warranties of non-infringement

Limitation of Liability

In no event shall the authors, copyright holders, or contributors be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages (including, but not limited to, procurement of substitute goods or services; loss of use, data, or profits; or business interruption) arising in any way out of the use of this Software, even if advised of the possibility of such damage.

Third-Party Components

Open DroneLog incorporates various open-source libraries and components, each governed by their respective licenses. A list of these dependencies and their licenses can be found in our GitHub repository. Your use of these components is subject to their individual license terms.

Modifications to Terms

Contributions

If you contribute code, documentation, or other materials to Open DroneLog, you agree to license your contributions under the same AGPLv3 License. You represent that you have the right to license your contributions and that they do not infringe on any third-party rights.

Termination

These terms remain in effect until terminated. You may terminate by discontinuing use of the Software. We may terminate or suspend access to our services immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties.

Governing Law
